The Mansion at Werribee Park, constructed from 1874-1877 marked the peak of pastoral affluence for squatters Thomas and Andrew Chirnside, a prominent family in victorian times. Purchased by the Victorian Government in 1973, today The mansion at Werribee Park is managed by Parks Victoria.
The scope of this 140 hectare estate and its many surviving features such as the mansion, formal Guilfoyle style gardens, working farm, riverine area and the Victoria State Rose Garden make this venue a sight of national significance.
