Wilson Island is essentially natural - a tiny coral cay located just 40 minutes from Heron Island. A divine sweep of castor sugar sands that is home to turtles and birds, Wilson is both part of the Great Barrier Reef and surrounded by it, its pristine waters host to unimaginable variety of marine life including coral and fish with some of the best snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef right off the beach.
Those that are drawn to the Wilson Island experience will see the pristine nature of the island, its seclusion and the freedom from modern-day living part of its appeal. Providing a maximum of just 12 guests with access to the magnificent reef and beach environments, including rare turtle and bird breeding grounds.
What to bring
Casual clothing, swimwear, light pants and long-sleeved clothes for the evenings and suitable footwear for walks. There are no convenience stores on Wilson Island, so don’t forget any necessities you simply can’t do without . You can forget your mobile phone, laptop, hairdryer, clothes that require ironing, and leave behind your stresses. Wilson Island is a total escape from the pressures of everyday living, and so whilst you may have to do without a few modern-day ‘comforts’ – after a few days without them, you will wonder why you ever needed them in the first place!
