The Southwest
280km south of Perth lies the wine growing region of Margaret River (Click here for accommodation). The coastal scenery of rugged cliffs and rocky shorelines are sensational. Many of the towns have safe snow white swimming beaches. If you are lucky enough to coincide your visit with wildflower season (late August to late October) you will see the landscape come alive with colour. The southwest has magnificent forests, notably of the karri tree. Organised day tours are available but self drive is still one of the most popular options.
