The Top End region has some of Australia’s most beautiful natural wonders as well as some interesting man-made attractions. The biggest attraction to this area is Kakadu National Park, the park is full of natural wildlife, and a variety of superb views as well as containing some of Australia’s best Aboriginal rock paintings. The City of Darwin, the capital of the Northern Territory, has many attractions that include some very old buildings and interesting architecture (eg: The Victoria Hotel and Government House), the Indo-Pacific Marine and Australian Pearling Exhibition, Crocodylus Park as well as the many beaches and reserves found throughout the city. Around the outskirts of Darwin you can find the Howard Springs Nature Park, the Mary River Wetlands and National Park, Territory Wildlife Park and Litchfield National Park.The Top End also is the home of the Bathurst and Melville Islands, which are two islands that are great to visit on day trips from Darwin to learn about the Tiwi people who inhabit the islands. The area around the town of Katherine is also spectacular with such attractions as the Katherine Gorge, Edith Falls, Mataranka Thermal Pools and Cutta Cutta Caves National Park. The Top End is never short on things to see an do and will always keep you amazed.
