The Flinders Rangers is a spectacular place to visit and if you do venture to this region be sure not to miss the attractions of Pichi Richi Pass, Warren Gorge, Waukerie Creek Trail, Dutchman’s Stern and Devils Peak in Quorn. Kanyaka holds attractions like Kanyaka Waterhole and Death Rock. In Hawker you will find Yourambulla Rock Shelter, Jarvis Hill Lookout and the Moralana Scenic Route.

The best known feature in the Flinders Rangers is Wilpena Pound, which is a spectacular natural basin covering 80 square kilometres. Other big attractions include Brachina Gorge, Sacred Canyon, Bunyeroo Creek, Aroona Valley and the 20km-walking track of Brachina Gorge Geological Trail. The town of Arkaroola has some attractions such as Arkaroola Astronomical Observatory, Barraranna Gorge, Bolla Bollana Springs, Mt Painter, Freeling Heights, Siller’s Lookout and Paralana Hot springs.

The outback region of South Australia is vast and mostly desert, but there is still some worthwhile attractions found amongst the small outback towns. The biggest attractions in the area are Lake Eyre, the Birdsville Track, Simpson Desert, Sturt Stony Desert and the Strzelecki Track. Also not to be missed is the opal-mining town of Coober Pedy with attractions such as the Old Timers Mine, Umoona Opal Mine and Museum, Underground Potteries, Crocodile Harry’s and the Big Winch.
