The Mid West region is one of western Australia’s most beautiful and interesting regions with many attractions to visit. The region is home to the towns of Geraldton, Kalbarri, Shark Bay and Carnarvon. The attraction to Geraldton is the Geraldton Museum, St Francis Xavier Cathedral and the mystical Houtman Abrolhos Islands just of the coast. Kalbarri is home to the beautiful Kalbarri National Park, which is full of scenic gorges found along the Murchison River. The best two gorges to visit are the Loop and Z-Bend. Kalbarri is also home to the Rainbow Jungle, which is an interesting rainforest and bird park.

Shark Bay is known for its spectacular beaches and dolphins of Monkey Mia. The main attractions in the Shark Bay World Heritage and Marine Park area include Hamelin Pool, Shell Beach, Telegraph Station, Eagle Bluff, Nanga Station, Denham, Francois Peron National Park and Monkey Mia. Carnarvon and the Gascoyne are is a beautiful place to visit with attractions such as the Gascoyne River, the banana plantations, Pelican Point, Bush Bay, New Beach, Bibbawarra Bore, the HMAS Sydney Memorial and Cape Cuvier. There are also the attractions of the Kennedy Range’s, Buringurrah National Park and Mount Augustus.

The Pilbara and Coral Coast area of this region is the home of the Ningaloo Marine Park, Coral Bay, Cape Range National Park, Karijini National Park, Millstream-Chichester National Park and the Collier Range and Rudall River National Parks. This region is also home to the interesting towns of Port Headland, Dampier, Karratha and Marble Bar.
