In the western part of this region you will find the amazing Latrobe Valley, which is known for its mining and power stations. In this part of the Gippsland region you will find attractions such as Yallourn Power Station, Long Tunnel Extended Gold Mine, Walhalla Goldfields Railway and the Old Gippsland Pioneer Township in Moe.

The south part of the Gippsland region is known for its great natural beauty and fascinating scenery. The south holds the Strzelecki Ranges with its rolling hills and beautiful views. The Grand Ridge Brewery and Restaurant can be found within the ranges and is a great place to stop for a beer and a feed. The south also holds the Tarra Bulga National Park, which is one of the last remnants of the spectacular forests that used to cover the entire region. Wilsons Promontory covers the southern most peninsula and offers great walking tracks, sandy beaches and some magnificent wildlife.

The final part of this region is the east, and it is here where you will find the largest inland waterway system. The Gippsland Lakes include Lake King, Lake Victoria and Lake Wellington and the area is very popular for fishing, boating and other water based sports. Around the lakes area are attractions such as Rotamah Island, Nintey Mile Beach, Howitt Park and Kinkuna Country Fun Park. The eastern part of the Gippsland is also home to the Snowy River National Park, Errinundra National Park, Croajingolong National Park as well as the small towns of Mallacoota, Buchan and Marlo.
