The Illawarra and the South Coast has many attractions to draw visitors to its region. The main towns of Wollongong, Kiama, Ulladulla, Batemans Bay, Bega and Eden are the biggest draw cards to the region. Wollongon is only a short 1-2 hour drive from Sydny and here you can see the City Gallery, the Illawarra Museum, Belmore Basin (Wollongong’s Harbour) and North Beach, which is the towns best surfing beach. Around Wollongong are the national parks of Macquarie Park and Morton as well as the beaches of Sandon Point, Austinmer and Headlands as well as Sharkies.

Kiama is a pretty seaside town with an unusual attraction in the Kiama Blowhole and just near by is the heritage Pilot’s Cottage Museum. Between Kiama and Bateman’s Bay is the Shoalhaven area that includes the town of Nowra. Within this region you can find Nowra’s animal park, Morton national Park and Booderee National Park. Bateman’s Bay has the attraction of fishing as its main tourist draw card with the opportunity to go whale watching and learn the history of the fishing industry in NSW. Bega and Eden are the last two major towns before the Victorian border and they bring their own attractions to the area such as whale watching and historical museums.
