The South East’s biggest attraction is the Coorong National Park, which is home to a vast number of water birds as the area is a narrow lagoon which curves along the coastline. In the south east corner of the national park is the small town of Kingston and it is here where you will find Harry the Big Lobster and the Granites. The Town of Robe is located in the South East region and it is here you will see the Chinamen’s Wells and numerous old stone buildings like the 1863 Customs House. Beachport has the attractions of the Old Wool and Grain Store Museum, Aboriginal Artefacts Museum and the Pool of Salome, which is a great place for swimming. Millicent holds some very interesting attractions such as Millicent Shell Garden, Canunda National Park, an excellent National Trust Museum and near by is the Tantanoola Caves.
The biggest town in the South East is Mt Gambier and it is here where you will find the beautiful Blule Lake, Umpherston Sinkhole and Engelbrecht Cave. Near by are the towns of Port MacDonnell, Naracoorte, Coonawarra and Penola. Amongst these towns are attractions like Dingley Dell, Mt Schank, Naracoorte Museum and Snake Pit, Naracoorte Caves Conservation Park, Victoria Fossil Cave, Alexandra Cave, Blanche Cave, Wet Cave, Bat Cave, Bool Lagoon Game Reserve, Hacks Lagoon Conservation Park and Woods-Mackillop Schoolhouse.
