The Yarra Valley is best known for its wineries and natural beauty. There are more than thirty wineries in the region and they include Domaine Chandon, Lilydale Vineyards, De Bortoli, Fergussons and Yarra Burn. Other big attractions in the Yarra Valley include the Gulf Station (just outside Yarra Glen), Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary, Cumberland Scenic Reserve, Lake Mountain Reserve and Cathedral Range State Park (near Marysville).

The Dandenong Ranges are an attraction in them self with spectacular scenic drives and a great place for picnics on a day trip out of Melbourne. Within the ranges the visitor will find the beautiful Ferntree Gully National Park, Sherbrooke Forest Park and William Ricketts Sanctuary. All of these are well worth the visit and hold there own magical scenery and adventure.
